Spring is back, bringing with it warm weather, the greenery ... and Jane’s Walk! The Montréal Urban Ecology Centre (MUEC) invites you to rediscover the city with the unveiling of the 9th edition programming for this event organized by and for citizens. With more than 80 walks in 19 Montréal boroughs and districts, citizens will have plenty of opportunities to stretch their legs on May 5, 6 and 7!

In July, Julie Rocheleau, Executive Director of the MUEC, announced that she would be leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities. “Over the last two years, she has helped push our organization towards innovation, develop a network of partners and successfully support a talented, energetic team. Thank you Julie, we wish you all the best,” says Raquel Peñalosa, President, Board of Directors of the MUEC.
Alliance Created For a New Shared Sainte-Catherine Street

The Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal, Montréal Urban Ecology Centre, Vélo Québec and Vivre en ville have announced the formation of an alliance for a new shared Sainte-Catherine Street West, in a collective effort to nourish the consultation process called “Sainte-Catherine West: open to your ideas.” The alliance has a blog where it provides information and proposes urban design solutions. The blog is also a place for member organizations to share their future vision of Sainte-Catherine West, one of the most emblematic streets of Montréal’s social and economic dynamism.
2nd Pedestrian Week

The 2nd edition of Pedestrian Week ended better than it started. The tragic events that caused the death of three pedestrians and one cyclist in Montréal are impossible to forget. But yesterday the City of Montréal announced the implementation of temporary measures that will have a positive impact on cyclists and pedestrians, and this is cause for celebration.
